For reference my piece was supposed to be the one with the orange vespa that you can see in the post below this one. However, I was completing it at Midlothian Art Academy. I was unable to pick it up before it closed due to the corona virus. So, I am turning in a painting I did of my mentor's cat as a thanks for dealing with me for the year.

This painting is so adorable! It sucks that you couldn't continue with the piece you had intended on finishing, but it's still incredibly thoughtful of you to create this as a gift for your mentor. The composition is strong. I would recommend adding a bit more details to the fur for the sake of texture. If the cat is supposed to be on a rug, maybe some small details would also help with perspective? These are all little points of concern, though, and I honestly do not believe your mentor is going to be any less impressed by/appreciative of your efforts!

This is so cute! I think you did a really nice job with this piece. I really love cats but I honestly might love the background, maybe a rug, just as much as the cat in this piece. I love the colors and design. I think that the composition and craftsmanship are both strong. I know Liz also said this but I would maybe consider adding a little more texture to the fur, but that completely depends on the look and style you're going for.

The kitty is soooo cute. Im sorry that your stuff is stuck at the Midlothian Art Academy, but at least that misfortune lead to the creation of this wonderful painting I love how subtly you painted the fur to create just enough of the illusion texture but not make it look messy or over done. The richness of the color choice of what i am assuming is a carpet is really good and contrasts nicely with the paleness of the cat. I would maybe define the features of the cat a bit more in the body. Right now it is just kind of a blob and I'm not sure if there are legs being shown or how the anatomy of the cat is being explained, but overall you did a great job and I love this painting.
